The Siva Tiger T-shirt

DESIGN 1 (LIMITED EDITION for 2010 - year of Tiger)

The Year of Siva/Tiger

The design incorporates the images of the Tiger and Trishul.

It uses symbols/insignias to synthesize the Eastern concepts of India's Siva (the Hindu God of shamanism who holds a Trishul/trident and wears a Tiger skin) with the Chinese astrology for this year. (the year of the Tiger - 2010).

The Trident is symbolic of the concept of AUM and the 3 "gunas" or qualities of nature (creation, preservation and destruction) that Truth (Siva - symbolic of the Absolute) transcends, whilst the Tiger skin represents mastery of ego with this realisation of ones true absolute nature. Siva is also considered the mystic and lover of trance inducing music - ie. the Sama Veda.

The Tiger in Chinese astrology is the emblem of power and courage.

Interestingly, every year the Hindus celebrate "Siva" (Sivaratri) during one night of the year, and this year it fell one day away from the Chinese New Year of the Tiger. Both cultures follow a lunar based calendar as well as a 60 year (Jupiter) cycle

For this reason, this design is just an auspicious symbol to initiate the idealism and vision of the Metaphysical House business and is a limited edition for this year- 2010.

The design brand is trying to appeal to buyers who identify with its philosophy of creating a fusion of cultures, religions and races around a metaphysical theme.
